This is a tutorial which assumes you have made or CAN make a "travel type" JAlbum and you want to share it at this site. However there are some people who have great photos but are "computer challenged" to the extent of not being able to actually make an album.
If so, by all means send an email anyway and we may be able to make the album for you if you are able to actually SEND the photos to us [and we would talk about the "how to" by return email, so please don't attach the photos to the initial email].
1/ Send an email
The exercise starts when you decide you want to display your JAlbum at this site.
You email to us at JAEarth with:
Please note that if your Country of choice is not there already WE CAN ADD IT FOR YOU
Also if your Location IS already there, still no problem [eg Cairns] as we will simply make it Cairns #1 and Cairns #2
2/ Assessment etc
As long as your album is "on topic" as a travel location album and not, for example, Germaine Greer exports her pornography to Africa, or a HUGE album that would swamp the site, then we will assess the album as "approved".
Please keep to the spirit of this site which is to give a "flavour/flavor" of as many locations as possible, rather than a full history/geography lesson.
We would then set up [if not already done] a structure on the HOME page of COUNTRY + LOCATION, for example you will see ENGLAND - Thames in this ScreenShot as a result of your request to upload an album.

At that stage there will be a simple index.html file [which you will over-write] to say

The laws of physics say [so please don't shoot the messenger] that you have to actually GET your album to our site in order for people to watch it, and that is done using a "FTP Client". You may already HAVE one but if we were to give the password to the site to hundreds of people it would be mob rule - agreed? So we have arranged for you to use a particular FTP Client that allows access only to your directory [aka folder].
As you have seen from the thread at JAlbum forums, "independent university tests" reveal that computers are very much like humans and have a LEFT side of the CPU [from Venus] and a RIGHT side [from Mars]. So to give you a fully optimised FTP Client we offer BlooFTP or PinkFTP which are gender specific versions of xTyFTP.
But there's MORE folks! - these custom versions are available at the heavily reduced price of only $19.95 [with 30 day free trial option] to JAlbum members. Just go to:
Here is a "mugshot" of the two, lined up together. As you can see they have totally different "personalities".

We would then send you a "Profile", which is an "instruction" to give you free access ONLY to the directory/folder which we have set up for your approved album [ie you don't even have to WORRY about the details of the directory and MORE messy passwords to remember as that will all be done FOR you in the profile].
5/ You Import Profile
The other end is called Import where you copy from the email and paste to BlooFTP, so here it is in pictures, starting by click CONNECT up top in BlooFTP, then click NEW

Then click IMPORT - and you can see I have obeyed the instructions up top and copied from the email and pasted into this box

Then I clicked on IMPORT, and changed the name in the first box to some name that I [or rather YOU, because this is at YOUR end] would remember later, assuming you may have many profiles of your own eventually.

You click CONNECT and you are connected and you will notice on RHS [the Server] you can't move either side of YOUR directory, meaning that you don't have to worry about anything there at all.

On LHS will be YOUR PC so you need to navigate to the directory with the JAlbum files ALREADY TESTED AND WORKING ON YOUR PC.
Of course you can use this BlooFTP with any other web site you control WITHOUT RESTRICTION simply by making your own profiles.
In this case I use the Shift key to select all the directories made by JAlbum plus index.html. BlooFTP does not ask about Replacing files so it will simply replace the train index with your index.
You can see that the the BIG BLUE [PINK] ARROW is ready to be activated, but before we do, please go to the "..." button at the bottom of BlooFTP, and you can adjust the number of threads [default is 3 and we use 6] on a PER PROFILE basis [or you can do so at any time in the future BEFORE you connect]

Now click the BLOO BUTTON and away we go!!

With 6 threads at once the job is done before you get time to put the kettle on!!

You now see all files/folders have been uploaded, your index.html has replaced the "train" index.html and both sides are identical [except for the big yellow train gif, but it won't do any harm so just ignore it - or exercise your power and use right click to delete it]
8/ Please let us know
Finally please let us know by email at JAEarth when it's all working [or if NOT].
