Having a lot of fun with Google Movies, and I have done an outline documentation on the process below. But here is a trip my IPod just took back to me in Australia after being fixed in the Creative Labs Hospital in USA, in that place where "the wind comes right behind the rain". The UPS tracking manifest supplied the details of the trip so I did a Google Earth on it.
Here is one I just did for a trip across America, or Ohio at least.
Here is a better one Europe 1976 - click on Switzerland and goto the bottom, just past the JAlbum link.
Here is one inside a JAlbum
Wine Routes - click on Alsace and open the first slide, which is a movie of Alsace Wine Route
So how to do these? Remember you are assuming the viewer does not have Google Earth, or at least not turned on. Within GE itself you can make a klm or something file which is far better than this. Also I am talking to the FREE version of GE, which does not have its own inbuilt video recorder as does the $400 version.
So this method uses Screen Recorder5 [about $30 from memory] to do the video recording.
So back to GE, you start out by finding and tagging a series of locations to make up your video, then just push start button and at same time start Screen Recorder5. There are numerous tips and tricks which you can perfect yourself [or ask me] but that is the basic method. Then open the avi file in MM, edit as desired, add music and save.
But because the result can be a bit jerky, especially if you don't have heaps of RAM, here is one tip. Slow the journey settings down in GE [Options] and in MM use the double time [once or twice] to speed up the action, with the overall result being way smoother.
