What is a Redux WebSite?

The word "Redux" is borrowed from the expression used by Francis Ford Coppola when he "sexed up" his 1979 Classic, Apocalypse Now.

Just as there is nothing wrong with YOUR WebSite, there was nothing wrong with the original Apocalypse Now. It just became BETTER with a Redux.

For your WebSite we are talking about "inserting" a "MultiMedia Portal" into your present structure, with the intention of attracting and retaining traffic to your WebSite.

Each Portal is custom designed to your requirements and preferences, and of course to blend seemlessly with the styles used at your site. The one shown below is a portal for a Caravan Park which we have then "customised" to THIS site. Please take a look around, or go straight to the Quick Tour below

Please note the red border is to identify the boundaries of this demonstation portal, and would not normally be used.

A Quick Tour

[Shortcut, to return to the Portal Home]
  • The "container" used to combine all the elements into a single Portal is a JAlbum, and an example of the most simple form, ie simply using digital camera photos, can be seen by navigating >Logistics >Site Photos >East Powered Sites >Site 3, or use this Shortcut

  • The same layout is used for old photos [from "the Fishing Book"], scanned and enhanced in Paint Shop Pro, and can be seen by navigating >Pinnacle Village Fishing >Mackerel >Pick any photo, or use this Shortcut

  • Perhaps the most dramatic presentation [but hardest to achieve], is via 360 Degree Moving Panoramas, an example of which can be seen by navigating >Panoramas >Two Swimming Pools, or use this Shortcut

  • By navigating >Logistics >Getting There >Movie, or using this Shortcut, you can see the combination of several applications such as Movie Maker, Photo Story 3, Google Earth, Screen Recorder 5 to create an introduction movie, as well as images saved from Google Earth, edited in PSP.

Or if you feel totally adventurous and want to try to make a Portal yourself, then please see our tutorials on some of these aspects at The Media Doctor

You will also find links on that Home Page to the Forums for the main players [ie JAlbum and MicroSoft MovieMaker] in MultiMedia, which Forums contain further links to further Tutorials, particularly those of the famous Papa John at MovieMaker. But please be warned, this is a very very long road of learning if you decide to try it yourself.
